Wild Chase Tokyo Go slot review (Quickspin)

wild-chase-tokyo-go

Perhaps you didn’t realize it, as the Wins of Fortune slot has never been a popular or known slot by most players. The theme is based on a group of particularly good-looking thieves planning to do a major heist in a big city. Quickspin must have thought: what if we change the theme and the symbols? Will anyone realize this is just a cheap copy of another slot?

Wild Chase Tokyo Go is a mathematical clone of the Quickspin slot Wins of Fortune.

They decided to have a shot! The theme isn’t original either, as it is a sequel to The Wild Chase slot.

In summary, Wild Chase Tokyo Go is the product of copied work.

We will accept it if the slot is innovative, entertaining, or exciting.

Sadly, this is not the case with Wild Chase Tokyo Go.

Gameplay and features of Wild Chase Tokyo Go

Wild Chase Tokyo Go has no standard paylines, nor is it a win-all-ways slot.

Here, symbols must touch each other to make a winning combination. Quickspin calls this “Connecting Win Ways.”

There are five reels.

Reels 1 and 2 have three symbols each,  reels 3 and 4 have four symbols each, and reel 5 has five symbols. There are 76 ways to win.

When you have won, you get a free respin, and the playing field expands as the most left reel (with three symbols) makes moves away and is replaced by a new reel with five symbols.

This new reel appears on the right of the playing field.

This feature continues as long as you keep on making winning combinations.

So you continue to get respins, and the playing field grows until it has 5 x 5 symbols. You then have 259 ways to win.

Bets start at $€0.20 per spin, which goes up to $€100 per spin.

Wild Chase Tokyo Go slot review super respin

What are the theoretical RTP, the variance, and the maximum win of the Wild Chase Tokyo Go slot?

The theoretical payout percentage is pretty good and is 96.54%. This is probably the best news about this slot.

The variance is low to medium. Yes, the maximum win can be as close to 3,000x the bet (based on the provider’s billion simulations).

Nevertheless, wins of this size are sporadic.

A low to medium variance slot implies that the top prizes are more than 100x to 200x the total bet.

If you bag anything more than that, you are indeed very fortunate with this slot.

Symbols and payouts

The premium symbols consist of the four leading players of this slot.

The David Beckham lookalike and his beautiful girlfriend are the highest and payout 2.5 x the total bet for a 5-of-a-kind.

The two other premium symbols are the lady with a scarf in front of her mouth and an attractive policewoman.

If you get five connecting ones, you get 1.5x the bet.

Low symbols include a bottle of champagne, gold bars, expensive watches, diamonds, and a ring.

If you spin 5 of them, you win a bet between 1 x and 1.25 x.

Wilds replace all symbols.

Super Respin

The goal of the game is to get the Super Respin Feature.

You get it if you manage to spin five winning combinations in a row.

You play the Super Respin on a playing field of 5 x 5 symbols, and you have 259 winning combinations.

This feature is a so-called “spin-as-long-as-you-win feature.”

As long as you get NEW winning combos, you get free respins.

Unlike in the base game, all winning combo symbols are sticky. They do not move one spot to the left after every spin.

Our verdict on the Wild Chase Tokyo Go slot

Wild Chase Tokyo Go is a disappointing release of Quickspin.

Although the slot looks beautiful (like every Quickspin slot does), the theming is slightly off.

We are still wondering what Tokyo has to do with it, as we see nothing Japanese in this slot.

It might just as well be called Wild Chase Doha Go. Or Cincinnati Go. Whatever.

Even more disappointing is the rather boring gameplay.

There are respins, and the playing field expands as long as you continue to make winning combinations.

After 5 winning combinations in a row, it stays that way. It becomes too dull and monotonous way too fast.

There are no bonus features, exciting car races, arrests, or incredible escapes.

A missed opportunity.
