Jackpot Quest is a cool adventurous slot by Red Tiger Gaming that promises big jackpots. But can it keep that promise?
Yes and no.
You can win Daily Drop and Mega Drop jackpots, for sure. But that is also possible with other slots by Red Tiger Gaming.
In Jackpot Quest itself, you can look for jackpots until you get dizzy, but you won’t find them; on the contrary.
The maximum payouts are low, the only bonus feature often will earn you next to nothing, and for the rest, there isn’t much happening at all, let alone winning something.
Red Tiger Gaming has made a beautiful little intro-clip for Jackpot Quest, which makes you feel you are part of a real Indiana Jones movie.
That feeling is lost pretty quickly once you start playing Jackpot Quest.
How does Jackpot Quest work?
Jackpot Quest is played on a large grid of 6 x 6 symbols.
Often, with such a large matrix the cluster pays mechanism is in play, but Jackpot Quest just has old fashioned paylines, 40 to be precise.
You can start placing bets with as little as $€ 0.20, and you can go as high as $€ 60, per spin.
The theoretical payout rate is shockingly low: 94.12%
The variance is also low: the maximum payout is 1,000 x the total bet. That doesn’t exactly get us excited either.
There are nine symbols in the game: four premium and five low-value symbols. The latter ones are simply filler: the payouts are low, and they are also not a part of the bonus game.
The premium symbols pay out between 8 x and 25 x the total bet with a 5-of-a-kind.
Respins with symbol boost
Every time you make a winning combination with 1 of the high-value symbols (purse, whip, treasure map, golden jackpot statuette) you have won the respin feature.
All premium symbols are kept in place, and you win free respins, as long as you spin new symbols.
If you can get the magical Ruby Talisman (a big red ruby), then it will get you extra symbols, which will allow you to get more winning combinations faster.
The moment there are no new symbols or Ruby’s Talismans added, the bonus round ends and the winnings are totted up.
This bonus feature is fun the first couple of times until you realise that:
- This is the only bonus feature in the game
- It is tough to win big with it
- It is mainly a lot of bells and whistles with no potential to show for it
Daily Drop Jackpot and Mega Jackpot
When you play Jackpot Quest, you have a chance to win the Daily Drop Jackpot, a jackpot that is removed daily at a specified time. If you decide to play this game, keep an eye out at what time the Daily Drop has to appear at the very latest and play around that time on Jackpot Quest.
The Daily Drop is usually worth anywhere from $€ 15K – 20K.
There is also a Mega Jackpot that runs in the $€ 100,000’s that has no time limit.
Both jackpots occur randomly: there is no bonus game that triggers either of them.
Our verdict on the Jackpot Quest video slot?
We have a few big problems with Jackpot Quest:
The payout rate of 94.12% is way too low. And that gets even worse when you consider that a cut of this percentage, contributes to the Daily Drop Jackpot.
You can count yourself lucky if the remaining RTP makes it up to 92% for the base game. Extremely low for an online slot.
There are, besides the respin feature with the Ruby Talisman, no other bonus features in the game. That makes it pretty dull, pretty fast.
Lastly, the maximum payout is very low. In the primary game, you can win a maximum of 1,000 x your bet in Jackpot Quest. For most players that is just not that interesting.
Despite the slick design and the exciting intro-clip, Jackpot Quest really doesn’t have a lot to offer.
1.5 out of 5 stars.
